Tembo hotel zanzibar tripadvisor7/3/2023 ![]() We only enjoyed breakfast here (although they offer 3 meals a day), but it was wonderful. Be prepared to climb steps if you go with a young one. It’s not a major issue, but I had to carry my heavy baby up 3 flights of stairs several times a day. I appreciate that the hotel is historical, which is why there is no elevator. A roll-away bed in this situation would have been great.Ģ. The beds are traditional Zanzibar-style beds, which are very high, and not easy for my 3-year-old to get in or out of, and we struggled to find a safe way for him to sleep and not roll out of bed in the night. The only drawbacks that kept Tembo House from earning a perfect score in this category are:ġ. There are not only 1, but 2 swimming pools at this hotel! This is a great option for activities for kids of all ages. And, there was an in-room fridge and kettle, ideal for making formula and keeping snacks. The bathroom has a big, but shallow tub, great for giving little ones a bath. The hotel has tables right on the sand, so our 3-year old would make sandcastles while we finished our breakfast every morning. We were provided with a baby bed and matching mosquito net for the babe and a high chair at breakfast. We were traveling with little ones, and everyone at the hotel went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. This hotel is a great option for families. Larger, center pool, located on the ground level (Left). It was such a nice surprise to enjoy a few days at this lovely hotel. I used to get juices and coffees from the ocean-front cafe of this hotel all the time, just because the space is sooo pretty. Here is my review of Tembo House Hotel, where we stayed for three lovely nights with our two youngest kids, a 3-year old and a baby, 5 months old.Ī confession: I’ve wanted to stay at Tembo House ever since I worked in Stonetown.
